Frame by frame, capturing the game!
The challenge to photographing sports is being able to anticipate player movements and game patterns; when they will jump, throw, kick, head, pass, dodge, or shoot . A photographer must understand the game, the tendencies of players and what plays "should" be made. The image is captured at the point of the anticipated action, not as the action occurs. If you wait, by the time the shutter in the camera moves to take the photo, the action is gone!
